Introducing Equality and Diversity

Our client was…
A well-known, nation-wide public sector organisation offering specialist services to the public and businesses alike. With more than 270 staff, this client has a high profile role and works under constant public scrutiny.
They needed…
An innovative equality and diversity programme which would be mandatory for all staff. Budgets were tight and the client demanded low costs with real value for money. Large group sizes were required.
So we…
Liaised closely with the client, and designed a one- day programme to address key behavioural changes the staff would need to demonstrate. Using a mix of creative auditory, visual and kinaesthetic activities which included challenging scenarios that helped to embed a culture of ‘curiosity’. We then evaluated the programme, involving key stakeholders in making observations and detailing behavioural changes in the workplace.
Afterwards, they said…
The training was ‘demanding, thought-provoking and enjoyable’ according to delegate evaluations. The client was delighted with the way that we handled some tricky interactions during training and was impressed by our professionalism and enthusiasm throughout the project. Evidence from the workplace showed that people have adopted a more ‘curious’ approach with colleagues and that assumptions have been reduced.
